Anna and Rex Weston Family:
Anna was born on July 31, 1909 in Delta. She was baptised on March 10, 1912. She lived in Delta until the death of her mother when she decided to seek her fortunes in California. After her arrival there, Anna worked as a mothers helper for three different families from 1931-33.
On June 27, 1933 she was married to Rex Weston in Los Angeles. After their marriage, she worked as an apartment house manager and this continued until 1936 when she and Rex purchased their own building in Los Angeles. Rex was employed by a transfer company. At the end of World War II, the Westons sold out and moved to Whittier, California. There they bought two acres of land and built a cottage. They raised grapes, boysenberries, avocodoes, corn and wheat. After Rex retired from the transfer company the couple went into the business of raising broiler chickens and they continued in this venture until Rex's death on March 20, 1956.
Afterwards, Anna phased out the broiler business and went into egg production. She did this until 1962 when she sold most of her land for a subdivision. She also remarried this year, to Arnold Nelson. Unfortunately, the marriage did not work out and in 1964, she was a single-woman once more,
Over the years Anna has Invested in rental properties and she is kept busy managing her real estate holdings. After living for several years in Monrovia, California she recently returned to Whittier where she lives in one of the homes that was built on her original acerage.
